Summary of Position:

The Patient Service Technician (PST) is responsible for delivering, setting up, and maintaining medical equipment in patients’ homes. This role involves instructing patients and caregivers on proper equipment use while ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory standards. The PST must maintain a high level of professionalism and provide excellent customer service. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up medical equipment

Load and unload equipment in accordance with safety procedures

Verify delivery loads against shipping documentation

Prepare receipts and maintain accurate delivery records

Prioritize and coordinate daily routes efficiently

Educate patients and caregivers on equipment setup and proper use

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all equipment and services offered

Ensure all returned equipment is properly cleaned, bagged, and tagged

Complete required paperwork, including patient signatures and billing documentation

Maintain driver logs in compliance with DOT, FDA, and OSHA regulations

Communicate regularly with the Branch Manager regarding route status and issues

Follow infection control and hazardous material handling protocols

Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic roadside maintenance if needed

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Participate in on-call rotation as required

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year delivery experience preferred

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Health experience preferred

Skills:

Strong organizational skills

Effective written and verbal communication

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

Valid state-issued driver’s license (CDL may be required)

Clean driving record (limited violations/accidents)

Must meet DOT age and regulatory requirements

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 150 lbs

Capable of frequent physical activity including loading/unloading equipment

Work Schedule:

Full-time

On-call availability required (evenings and weekends, rotating schedule)
