Production Supervisor - $80k - $90k- 3rd Shift Columbus, Ohio
A global leading industrial manufacturer are looking for a Production Supervisor to support operations at its Columbus, Ohio facility. This is a hands-on leadership role on the production floor, responsible for supervising hourly production employees, managing day-to-day production activities, and making sure safety, quality, and output targets are hit.

Schedule: 3rd shift, 7:00pm to 7:00am, rotating schedule of 36 to 48 hours per week.
What you'll be doing
Supervise, hire, and direct hourly personnel and manufacturing operations on your shift
Review production orders and schedules, making decisions based on product types, quantities, specifications, and logistics
Assign duties across the shift and make sure the production schedule is completed
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and conduct regular safety checks
Provide technical leadership: line setup and operation, metrics reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training
Handle attendance, vacation schedules, training records, and other admin tasks
Ensure optimum use of manpower and equipment for efficient workflow
Recognize, develop, and train the talents of all shift personnel, including on-the-job training for new starters
Act as lead for new Extruder Operator training
Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Innovations to make sure all quality standards, testing, and metrics are administered and adhered to as required by VSI and the customer's expectations
Facilitate safety training and complete all incident investigations and reporting
Drive continuous improvement: 5S, scrap reduction, and quality initiatives
Lead projects that solve current business problems or contribute to long-term objectives
What we're looking for
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Plastic extrusion experience preferred
Experience supervising hourly production employees strongly preferred
Able to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards
Able to handle employee relations matters professionally and consistently
Basic computer skills, including email and production reporting systems
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
Education and certifications
High school diploma or GED required
OSHA 30-hour certificate required within 1 year of starting
Green Belt participation and completion desired
