Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive 3% reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Under the general direction of the Manager Il, Statewide Support Unit, the Supervisor II plans, organizes, supervises, and directs the activities of the BIS Time & Shift and Statewide Transaction Support Unit. This position will also serve as the project lead over the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) MyTime Implementation and California State Payroll System (CSPS) work effort for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). The incumbent is responsible for the effective supervision, training, and direction of multiple data support Human Resources (HR) teams by developing, coordinating, and monitoring the Statewide Transaction Support Unit and BIS Time & Shift activities for all statewide HR programs. The incumbent assigns workload and sets program priorities for staff; and reviews and provides feedback on assignments to ensure completed work products. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring staff performance measures are met; contributing toward achieving the Department's goals of workforce excellence and organizational effectiveness; and modeling and instilling the Department's core values of leadership, integrity, accountability, and collaboration. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and portray a professional and positive demeanor at all times. The incumbent may have to act in the absence of the Manager II as deemed necessary.

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process.
