Logistics Specialist

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:

• Coordinate international logistics operations, including ocean and air freight, transportation schedules, and cargo movement from origin to final destination.

• Utilize ERP systems and logistics programs, including GAIA, PortPro, Marine Traffic to maintain shipment records, process transactions, track cargo, and prepare reports.

• Communicate with carriers, warehouses, vendors, customers, shippers, and consignees to support timely shipment execution and resolve operational issues.

• Prepare and review import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, arrival notices, bills of lading, packing lists, cargo orders, and customs clearance documents.

• Track shipment progress, identify potential delays or disruptions, and take corrective action to maintain delivery schedules and service quality.

• Arrange pickup and delivery activities based on customer requirements, cargo characteristics, warehouse capacity, appointment dates, and transportation schedules.

• Analyze transportation costs, storage charges, demurrage fees, and operational data to identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.

• Review transportation-related A/P and A/R information, process payment requests through GAIA, issue invoices, monitor collection schedules, and evaluate transportation vendors.

• Provide shipment updates, respond to customer inquiries, coordinate special requests, identify warehouses for early-arriving cargo, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field.

• More than two (2) years of experience in international logistics operations, freight forwarding, import/export coordination, shipment tracking, transportation scheduling, billing, or customer service.

• At least two (2) years of experience using ERP systems to support international logistics operations, including shipment processing, transportation coordination, billing, and logistics data reporting.
