Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbus, OH. If you're open to learning more, reply here or give me a call at 614-362-2547.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients with moderate to high acuity.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
• Initiate and maintain IV therapy, including IV starts.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor laboratory results and communicate significant findings to the healthcare team.
• Deliver patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
• Accurately document patient care in the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards.
Required Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU and/or telemetry nursing experience.
• Must be able to pass the facility Telemetry Test.
• Experience caring for telemetry patients is required.
• Strong general nursing skills, including:
o IV starts
o Medication administration
o Patient monitoring
o Laboratory review and interpretation
o Patient education
• Experience using Epic EMR is required.
Required Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
