About the role

Koda North is hiring Software Developers at junior, mid, and senior levels to help build, maintain, and improve reliable software applications, backend services, APIs, databases, integrations, and business systems.

This role is a good fit for developers who understand how software is designed, implemented, tested, released, and maintained in real production environments. Depending on experience level, you may work on application logic, backend services, frontend features, database workflows, third-party integrations, bug fixes, performance improvements, and ongoing product support.

We are looking for European candidates with strong English communication skills who are dependable, thoughtful, comfortable working in remote teams, and able to build clean, maintainable software for practical business needs.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain software applications, APIs, services, and business systems

Develop application features across backend, frontend, database, and integration layers

Implement clean business logic, reusable components, and data-driven workflows

Work with REST APIs, authentication, forms, databases, and third-party services

Translate product requirements and technical specifications into working software

Debug issues across application code, APIs, databases, integrations, and production behavior

Improve code quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability

Write readable, well-structured code that can be tested, reviewed, and extended

Work with existing codebases and make safe improvements without introducing regressions

Follow team standards for Git, code reviews, documentation, testing, and release workflows

Communicate progress clearly, ask good questions, and raise blockers early

Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, design, and client-facing teams

Support releases, bug fixes, production updates, and continuous software improvements

Qualifications

2+ years of professional software development experience for junior candidates

4+ years of professional software development experience for mid-level candidates

7+ years of professional software development experience for senior candidates

Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and clean code practices

Experience building real software applications, internal tools, APIs, or business systems

Experience with at least one backend language such as Python, Java, C#, Node.js, or similar

Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for web application development

Experience working with REST APIs, application data, validation, and error handling

Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server

Ability to write maintainable code and reason clearly about application behavior

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software, database, and integration issues

Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows

Strong written and spoken English communication skills

Ability to work effectively with remote European teams

Reliable ownership of assigned work from clarification through delivery

Nice to have

Experience building SaaS products, business platforms, dashboards, portals, or internal tools

Experience with Python, Java, Node.js, Django, FastAPI, Spring Boot, Express, or similar backend frameworks

Experience with React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks

Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, or cloud deployments

Experience with background jobs, queues, scheduled tasks, automation, or third-party integrations
