Job Description

Primary Function:

Responsible for supervising electrical crews, coordinating daily work activities, and ensuring

projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and

applicable codes. This role serves as the primary on-site leader for electrical operations and acts

as the key link between the field, project management, and other trades. Must ensure project

profitably and provide a positive experience in customer satisfaction.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain compliance with all OSHA, CES safety policy, customer safety requirements

and company policies and enforces them with the workforce under his/her responsibility.

Identify, correct, and report any unsafe acts, conditions or incidents. Directly responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.

Develop excellent working relationships with Customers, General Contractors and all trades on the project.

Direct team members to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in

compliance with the National Electrical Code and Project Documents.

Responsible for scheduling work, maintaining materials, and coordinating with others to

accomplish goals and objectives set forth by the Project Schedule.

Plan daily work activities and assign task based on project schedule and manpower.

Conduct job briefings, JHAs and toolbox talks.

Monitor productivity and quality of workmanship.

Report progress, manpower needs, and issues to the Project Manager.

Ensure that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials. Prevent

waste and misuse of tools, equipment and materials. Supervises work crews to best utilize

manpower and materials, exercises discipline at the worksite to prevent absenteeism,

unsafe work practices and idleness.

Maintain a respectful, professional, and harassment-free workplace. Take all complaints

seriously and listen respectfully without judgement.

Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production requirements. Initiates

measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of

installation.

Motivate team members to achieve project goals.

Must be a good communicator. Able to give instruction clearly and persuasively to his team

members. Capable of representing company interests effectively and professionally in all

project meetings. Has to initiate and respond to all written correspondence in a clear and

concise manner that accurately conveys thoughts, intentions, and objectives.

Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing

reports, ordering materials and tools, maintaining accurate job cost.

Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to project specifications,

the NEC, and company quality requirements.

Work without direct supervision.

Provide teaching, coaching, and mentoring to all team members assigned to their

supervision.

Perform evaluations and provides direct feedback to team members assigned to his/her

area of responsibility.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Responsibility for bidding projects and price change orders @ NTE $25,000.00 if

requested by an Estimator, Project Manager or higher. Higher values must be approved by

an Estimator or Project Manager before submittal.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be 24 years of age or older.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to delegate, set expectations, monitor delegated activities, and provide recognition for results.

Should have a sound knowledge of the current National Electrical Code and must be

proficient at reading and following blueprints, electrical schematics, and project specifications.

Individuals must demonstrate a focus on safety, quality, customer service, and operate with

honesty and integrity.

High school diploma or GED required.

Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Electrician.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Must have dependable transportation.

U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

OSHA 30-hour and CPR certifications (may be obtained within 6 months of hire or

promotion).

Has successfully completed large projects at $1 million and/or supervised 20 or more team

members.

Ability to manage crews, schedules, and jobsite logistics.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and competent with technology.

Minimum of 6 years of field experience. In lieu of 6 years field experience, 4 years field experience and 2 years of classroom training in a federally or nationally recognized electrical apprenticeship program (IEC) required OR 4 years field experience and possess an Electrical Contractor License.

Should demonstrate solid planning, organizing, time management, communication

and problem-solving skills.

Self-driven, reliable and able to perform all duties and responsibilities

under pressure.

Can develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with

others and maintaining them over time.

Continuing Education and Growth:

Minimum of 8 hours annually in applicable codes, standards, or new technologies.

Ongoing development in estimating and project management and technical competencies.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to climb and maintain balance while working on ladders, scaffolding, lifts and elevated surfaces.

Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds with assistance or mechanical aids.

Must be able to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity, etc.) while being exposed to dust, dirt, noise vibrations and fumes.

Must be able to see color coding on wires, hear verbal instructions, alarms and jobsite warnings

Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Travel:

Travels to projects outside CES home base areas as needed. Length of assignment based

on project duration.

Work out of town involves overnight stays from 4 to 17 days at a time, if needed.

Per diem paid for out of town travel

Additional Requirements:

Must pass a background check, company physical per Section 2 and drug screen in accordance with company policy.
