Pipelayer – Underground Utilities & Infrastructure

Salary & Benefits

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Overtime: Time-and-a-half paid after 40 hours (50-60 hour weeks)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Standard 10 to 12-hour shifts)

Location: Local work within a 50-mile radius of Sandpoint and Ponderay, ID (No overnight travel)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer / Utility Specialist to lead our underground installations. You will work closely with the excavator operator to safely install water, sewer, and storm utility systems. This is a skilled position for someone who understands trench safety, pipe grading, and blueprint specs.

Key Responsibilities

Rig, align, and lay concrete, PVC, and ductile iron pipe for water, sewer, and storm systems.

Set up pipe lasers, interpret grade stakes, and communicate adjustments clearly to the excavator operator.

Ensure all trenches meet OSHA safety standards before and during pipe installation.

Glue, seal, and connect pipe fittings and joints according to civil engineering plans.

Guide and train general utility laborers on the crew.

Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of dedicated underground utility pipelaying experience.

Skills: Proficient in reading civil blueprints, using pipe lasers, and checking grade.

Stamina: Prepared for consistent 10-12 hour workdays outdoors.

Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Sandpoint/Ponderay area.
