Position Overview
Esther's School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and highly effective Teacher for a combined 2nd and 3rd grade classroom for the 2026–2027 school year.
This position is ideal for an educator who has a passion for teaching elementary students through explicit, systematic instruction, with particular strength in English Language Arts. The successful candidate will create engaging lessons that build strong foundations in reading, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, writing, spelling, and reading comprehension while integrating instruction across all core subject areas.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging, teacher-led instruction for a combined 2nd and 3rd grade classroom.
• Provide explicit, evidence-based instruction in English Language Arts, including phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and writing.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and learning needs of students.
• Utilize ongoing assessment data to monitor student progress.
• Participate in weekly chapel and morning devotions.
• Foster a positive, structured, and Christ-centered classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, respect, and character development.
• Collaborate with classroom all stakeholders to support student success.
• Record and maintain student attendance and grades.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
• Integrate Biblical principles into daily instruction and classroom culture.
• Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
• Teaching certification is preferred but not required. Certification opportunities are available through the League of Christian Schools and Cognia.
• Strong background teaching English Language Arts.
• Experience teaching lower elementary-aged students
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
