MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Experience:

Minimum 1+ years of composite layup experience

Strong experience with prepreg carbon fiber materials

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, laminate schedules, and technical drawings

Experience with ply orientation, stacking sequences, and debulking procedures

Vacuum bagging experience

Experience working within prepreg out-time limitations

Knowledge of autoclave and/or oven cure processes

Cutting, kitting, and staging composite materials

Tool and mold preparation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with core materials (honeycomb, foam, etc.)

Bonding and adhesive application

Composite trimming, drilling, sanding, and finishing

Composite repair experience

Familiarity with quality systems (ISO/AS standards preferred)

Aerospace, oil & gas, or high-performance manufacturing experience

Quality Expectations

Perform visual inspections of composite parts

Identify defects such as voids, bridging, and delamination

Maintain clean work areas and prevent FOD (Foreign Object Debris)

Accurately complete production and quality documentation

General Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred

Technical or trade certification preferred

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to lift 25–50 lbs

Comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment

Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Key Responsibilities:

Perform CFRP layups using Toray prepreg materials according to work instructions and engineering drawings.

Conduct bonding preparation including cleaning, abrading, masking, and adhesive application.

Set up and operate autoclaves and ovens; monitor cure cycles and document process parameters.

Perform composite curing operations including vacuum bagging, thermocouple placement, and pressure/temperature monitoring.

Assist with equipment installation, calibration, and setup during facility startup and expansion.

Perform in-process inspections to ensure part quality and conformance to specifications.

Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation.

Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.

Week 1 Responsibilities

Written technical assessment completed prior to scheduling onsite evaluation

Onsite bonding and drilling practical test conducted on Mondays

Candidate travel to onsite testing is self-funded

Successful candidates may begin as early as Tuesday following test completion

Weekend Shift employees will test on Thursday and if they pass the practical will start orientation that Friday.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Manufacturing Technician to support the production of advanced composite components for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate has experience with Toray prepreg materials, bonding preparation, autoclave operations, and composite curing processes. This role also includes supporting new facility startup activities, such as equipment installation, setup, and early process trials.
