The City of Worthington is seeking a motivated and skilled Building Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations of our Community Center. Reporting to the Building Maintenance Technician, this position is responsible for maintenance and repairs to the facility, equipment, and surrounding areas. Duties include work related to mechanical systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool operations, and oversight of custodial staff.
Responsibilities include:
Performing maintenance and repairs on the building, equipment, and grounds
Operating and maintaining mechanical systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool systems
Supervising custodial staff and ensuring high standards of cleanliness
Supporting daily facility operations and responding to operational needs Qualifications:
High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
Valid Ohio driver's license
Knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and care of commercial or public buildings
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and supervise staff
Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills
Prior commercial facility maintenance experience preferred
Pool Operator or comparable certification required within six months of hire Schedule:
Second shift
Occasional weekends and holidays required
This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt, classified position with a salary range of $66,667-$83,933. New hires typically are appointed at step A of the pay range. Training and experience may qualify a candidate for appointment at a higher step within this range.
