Position Type: Part-Time

Compensation: $45–$65 per session

About the Role

Do you enjoy building, tinkering, and bringing creative ideas to life? We are seeking an enthusiastic instructor to lead our Inventor’s Lab program, where students explore engineering, circuitry, and hands-on invention through engaging STEAM projects.

This program encourages students to become creators rather than consumers. Through guided challenges and open-ended design activities, students will experiment with simple circuits, invent prototypes, and discover how innovation happens through trial, testing, and improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead hands-on maker and invention activities for students in Grades 2–5

Introduce basic circuitry concepts using age-appropriate materials

Encourage creativity, curiosity, and engineering thinking

Facilitate design challenges that allow students to build and improve their own creations

Foster a positive learning environment where experimentation is encouraged

Manage classroom routines, materials, and student participation

Ensure all activities are conducted safely and effectively

Qualifications

Experience with maker education, STEM programs, electronics, robotics, or engineering

Familiarity with hands-on project-based learning

Background in education, engineering, science, technology, or related fields

Requirements

Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings

Ability to explain concepts in a fun and accessible way

Strong organizational and classroom management skills
