About Us

VIA Plumbing, Heating & Drainage has been serving Greater Vancouver since 2015, delivering trusted plumbing, drainage, heating, gas, HVAC, and electrical services to residential and commercial clients across Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, and the North Shore. We're licensed in Plumbing, Refrigeration Mechanics, Construction Electrical Work, and Class A Gas Fitting, and offer 24/7 emergency response. Our team supports clients in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

We're growing, and we're looking for a motivated Plumber Apprentice to join our crew.

The Role

You'll be out in the field with our team, working across residential, commercial, industrial, and construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland. This is a great opportunity to build your skills under experienced tradespeople while getting hands-on with real installs and repairs from day one.

What You'll Do

Assist with installing and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients, working alongside experienced plumbers on a variety of job sites

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs to understand how a plumbing, water supply, or drainage system needs to be laid out before work begins

Map out and mark where pipe connections, fixtures, and passage holes need to go in walls and floors, based on the plans

Cut openings in walls and floors, under supervision, to make room for pipe runs and fittings

Connect and secure pipe using a range of methods — couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding — as directed by the lead tradesperson on-site

Pressure-test completed pipework with air and water gauges to confirm everything is sealed and leak-free before sign-off

Assist in working out piping requirements and pipe sizing for each job, learning this process alongside senior team members

Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe on-site to fit the exact shape and dimensions the job calls for

What You Bring

1–2 years of relevant experience

College/CEGEP education (or equivalent)

English language proficiency

Comfortable working in wet/damp conditions and physically demanding settings (bending, crouching, kneeling)

Good hand-eye coordination

Availability for early mornings, nights, weekends, on-call shifts, and overtime as required

Details

Wage: $30.00/hour, 35 hours/week

Employment: Permanent, full-time, on-site (no remote option)

Start date: As soon as possible
