Controller – Electrical Contracting Company

Are you a strategic financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment? Our electrical contracting company is seeking a Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and help guide the business into its next phase of growth.

What You'll Do

Oversee all accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, job costing, and month-end close

Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts

Implement strong internal controls and ensure compliance with industry standards

Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze job performance and profitability

Optimize financial systems, processes, and workflows

Manage banking relationships, insurance, bonding, and audits

Lead and mentor a small accounting team

Provide back-up to other departments and staff, as necessary

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader—construction or electrical contracting experience strongly preferred

Deep understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, overhead burden and construction accounting principles

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights

Knowledge of Foundation Software and Payroll4 Construction a plus

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

A collaborative leader who communicates clearly and confidently

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
