This leader will drive branch performance by developing customer relationships, managing operations, and leading a team of skilled electrical professionals. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong business acumen and a proven ability to grow revenue while maintaining high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, and operational success of the Columbia branch. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance business development, operational oversight, financial management, and team leadership while ensuring exceptional customer service and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

Build and strengthen customer relationships using a consultative sales approach.

Understand customer needs and provide accurate, competitive proposals and quotations.

Ensure job costs, profitability, and margins align with company standards.

Develop and implement strategies to secure repeat business and expand market share.

Maintain and grow existing customer accounts while identifying new opportunities.

Carry an individual sales quota and partner with Business Development personnel to achieve branch goals.

Branch Operations

Oversee all branch operations, including sales performance, profitability, staffing, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Manage branch P&L, budgeting, forecasting, gross margin objectives, and utilization metrics.

Recruit, hire, train, and develop branch staff including apprentices, journeymen, purchasing personnel, and electronic field technicians.

Assess workload demands and allocate resources effectively across projects.

Coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.

Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Uphold IEG standards for quality, service, and operational excellence.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and motivate a team of 5–15 employees.

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing development opportunities.

Inspire high performance and maintain employee engagement.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of general management or operations management experience in a skilled trades environment; electrical industry experience strongly preferred.

Proven experience in business development, forecasting, and budgeting.

Demonstrated success managing P&L statements and driving revenue growth.

Strong project management skills with the ability to align personnel capabilities with project requirements.

Proven track record as a selling manager consistently meeting or exceeding goals.

Experience managing and developing multi-level teams.

Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong organizational, leadership, and follow-through abilities.

Hands-on leadership style with a calm, innovative, and solution-oriented approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Valid Driver's License.

Electrical Certification or License required.

Preferred Qualifications

Journeyman Electrician License.

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience managing industrial, manufacturing, or commercial electrical operations.
