Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Property Caretaker / Working Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operations of a beautiful 200-acre private estate.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a small team of two outdoor staff

Create daily/weekly to-do lists and ensure tasks are completed efficiently

Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs for the main home, guest cabins, and all property structures

Care for chickens, landscaping, groundskeeping, and general property upkeep

Handle vehicle and equipment maintenance (including ATVs, boats, watercraft, trailers, and snow removal equipment)

Snow plowing and seasonal property preparation

Maintain, clean, and organize shops, garages, and storage areas

Order supplies, manage receipts, and submit monthly reports

Coordinate with the House Manager on interior/exterior projects and determine when to bring in specialized contractors

Perform light mechanic work, basic plumbing, carpentry, and handyman repairs (major jobs can be outsourced)

Requirements:

Strong working knowledge of maintenance and other equipment (Genie lifts, snow blowers, trailers, towing, boats, watercraft, etc.)

Proven experience as a mechanic, handyman, or property caretaker with management skills

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multi-task effectively

Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities

Professional, trustworthy, and able to pass a comprehensive background check

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
