Full Time Cook

Salary Range $80,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation

Summary

Spice Kerala Kitchen is seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Cook to join our growing team. We specialise in authentic South Indian and Kerala cuisine, bringing traditional flavours, aromatic spices, and warm hospitality to our customers.

The successful candidate will have strong cooking techniques and experience preparing dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should also speak Malayalam (Southern Indian language) and English.

Duties

- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian and Kerala dishes to a high standard.

- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of food.

- Prepare and cook curries, biryanis, dosas, appam, seafood dishes, and other traditional Kerala specialties.

- Checking ingredients and monitoring cooked food to ensure it meets quality standards

- Garnishing and arranging food on plates before service

- Assist in planning menus and developing new dishes.

- Cleaning and sanitizing workstations, utensils, and equipment

- Adhering to food safety regulations

- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities, checking stock, and monitoring inventory.

Required skills

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management

- At least 1 year of experience as a Cook

- Must be able to speak Malayalam (Southern Indian language) and English
