Description:

We need a School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide services to students in the Asheville, NC area, whose occupational performance needs impact their ability to participate successfully in the educational environment. The OT will evaluate students, identify areas of need, develop intervention plans, and provide therapy services in accordance with the student’s IEP.

The School-based OT will support students in areas such as fine motor skills, visual-motor skills, sensory processing, self-help skills, classroom participation, and functional independence. They will work closely with teachers, families, and other members of the educational team to help students build confidence, develop independence, and succeed in school.

One of the greatest rewards of working with children is watching them develop new skills, overcome challenges, and become more confident and independent every day.

Applicants must possess:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active NCBOT License

• Professional Liability Insurance

• Ability to pass required background screenings

• Strong evaluation, assessment, and documentation skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Three professional references

Job expectations:

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday.

• This is an in-person position within a public school district.

• Student population ranges from Pre-K through High School.

• Services are provided according to student IEPs, district guidelines, and applicable

regulations.

• Available assignments include Full-Time Annual Placement and Maternity Leave Coverage.

• Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

• You will receive support from experienced school-based clinicians.
