Senior Project Manager – SAP Applications & Support

Houston, TX 77074 (100% Onsite Role)

6-12+ Months Contract (Potential Long Term)

Pay Range: $40-45/hr on W2 + Medical Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of annual SAP Support Pack, enhancement, upgrade, and maintenance initiatives, ensuring delivery within approved timelines, scope, budget, and quality expectations.

• Develop detailed project plans, implementation schedules, resource forecasts, milestones, dependencies, RAID logs, and cutover plans using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Azure DevOps.

• Coordinate SAP Basis, functional, development, infrastructure, security, database, integration, testing, and business teams throughout planning, execution, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.

• Drive SAP Support Pack upgrade activities from initial planning and impact assessment through sandbox/development, QA, testing, production readiness, cutover, and hypercare.

• Coordinate stakeholder communications and provide timely heads-up notifications for planned SAP outages, maintenance windows, system downtime, testing activities, and production deployments.

• Work closely with SAP functional and technical leads to identify dependencies, assess business impacts, manage risks, and ensure readiness for planned SAP changes and upgrades.

• Support implementation of new SAP modules, functionality, enhancements, integrations, and related enterprise applications, coordinating project planning, requirements, testing, deployment, and transition activities.

• Manage cross-functional dependencies between SAP and integrated enterprise platforms, including middleware, identity, databases, applications, infrastructure, and downstream/upstream systems.

• Establish and manage project governance, including recurring project meetings, status reporting, stakeholder updates, action/decision tracking, RAID management, and executive reporting.

• Coordinate SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and production validation to ensure SAP releases and implementations are deployment-ready.

• Manage vendor and partner activities, resource planning, delivery commitments, escalations, and issue resolution across SAP-related initiatives.

• Proactively manage project risks, schedule constraints, scope changes, technical dependencies, and competing priorities while maintaining alignment with business and IT leadership.

• Ensure project documentation, implementation plans, test plans, cutover procedures, communication plans, and operational handoff materials are maintained in accordance with enterprise standards.

• Drive continuous improvement of the SAP release and upgrade process by identifying opportunities to improve planning, automation, testing, communication, governance, and deployment efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 10-12+ years of Project/Program Management experience, with significant experience managing SAP application, upgrade, enhancement, or implementation initiatives.

• Proven experience managing SAP Support Pack/maintenance upgrades, including planning, testing, stakeholder coordination, downtime communications, cutover, and post-production stabilization.

• Experience working across SAP Basis, functional, development, infrastructure, security, database, integration, and business teams in complex enterprise environments.

• Strong experience with SIT/UAT, release management, change management, cutover planning, RAID management, vendor coordination, and executive/stakeholder communication.

• Experience managing SAP module implementations, enhancements, integrations, or transformation initiatives is strongly preferred.

• Strong proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar, with PMP certification preferred.
