Job Summary

Benchmark Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance applications that support our growing insurance brokerage operations. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while contributing to business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications

Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership teams to deliver solutions

Lead technical design and architecture decisions

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code

Review code and mentor junior developers

Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems

Build and integrate APIs and third-party services

Ensure application performance, security, and scalability Qualifications

Required:

5+ years of software development experience

Strong experience with at least one of the following: C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript

Experience with modern frameworks (e.g., .NET, React, Angular, Node.js)

Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system design

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Proficiency with SQL or NoSQL databases

Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines Preferred:

Experience in insurance, fintech, or financial services

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or DevOps practices

Experience with enterprise system integrations Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to lead projects and work independently
