Position Summary

The Working RN Supervisor is responsible for supervising nursing staff while actively managing a medication/treatment cart and providing direct patient care. This position ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and a supportive team environment throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) during assigned shift

Provide direct resident care, including medication administration and treatments

Respond to clinical concerns, changes in condition, and emergencies

Ensure proper documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations

Complete clinical assessments and follow up on physician orders

Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing team members

Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed

Maintain communication with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team

Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in good standing

Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred

Long-term care experience strongly preferred

Strong clinical and assessment skills

Ability to multitask while maintaining high standards of care

Excellent communication and leadership abilities
