Job Title: Financial Controller

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting, controls, compliance, and financial management functions. The successful candidate will provide strong financial oversight and support strategic decision-making across a complex, multi-business environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

- Strengthen and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and reporting systems.

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial planning.

- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic financial insights to Management.

- Ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting of all business transactions.

- Review financial processes to identify risks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.

- Lead and provide guidance to the finance and accounting team.

- Liaise with auditors, regulators, banks, tax authorities, and other key stakeholders.

- Support Management’s strategic decisions through sound financial analysis and advice.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

- ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.

- Strong audit experience is critical.

- Previous experience in an audit firm is highly advantageous, particularly in financial audits, internal controls, risk assessment, and financial reporting.

- Minimum of 8–12 years’ progressive experience in accounting, finance, audit, or financial control roles, preferably within a large or diversified organisation.

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, taxation, internal controls, and corporate governance.

- Proven experience managing audits and working with external auditors.

- Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Experience in a publicly quoted company or large corporate environment is an added advantage.
