Role Description The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Haven, CT. This position leads multiple heavy civil, underground utility, roadway and municipal construction projects from award through final closeout. The position is accountable for project schedule, cost, contract administration, owner and agency relationships, subcontractor performance and coordination with Laydon superintendents. Serves at the primary point of contact with owners, municipalities, CT DOT, public agencies, engineers, construction managers and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum eight (8) years of progressive construction experience, including at least five (5) years independently managing heavy civil, roadway, underground utility or comparable public works projects.

Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, project financial controls, subcontractors, change work and owner or agency relationships required.

Experience with Connecticut municipal, CT DOT or public utility contracts strongly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred. A comparable combination of technical training and substantial heavy civil construction experience will be considered.

Project Management Professional (PMP), Engineer in Training (EIT) or related construction credential preferred but not required.

Professional Engineer (PE), or Licensed Surveyor (LS) designation highly preferred.

Strong communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills are important for success in this role.

Strong leadership, delegation and coordination skills, including the ability to align office and field personnel across multiple projects.

Proficiency with construction management software, project scheduling tools, and standard office applications.

Advanced understanding of heavy civil construction methods, underground utilities, roadway work, materials, equipment, sequencing and risk management.

Excellent organization and follow through with the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Valid driver's license required.
