Role: Project Manager — Enterprise Asset Management (IBM Maximo) Implementation
Location: Remote USA.
Duration: Full Time.
Client: SDLtek
End Customer: Federal Government agency
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a fixed-price engagement configuring, optimizing, and training administrators on an enterprise IBM Maximo-based Asset/Inventory Management System (AMS) for a U.S. federal government client. The engagement is fully remote and structured as a phased effort addressing a prioritized backlog of system configuration issues, custom reporting, and administrator training. Candidates must be able to support a near-term start pending contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide expert-level project management to ensure timely, high-quality completion of a multi-phase Maximo configuration and optimization effort.
· Develop and maintain a project plan covering work breakdown structure, resource allocation, and schedule for a tiered set of configuration tasks, report development, and training deliverables.
· Proactively identify resource conflicts and schedule risks; escalate and mitigate issues to keep deliverables on track.
· Ensure each configuration and reporting deliverable is fully documented (issue addressed, actions taken, tools used, implementation date) and accepted by the client before work proceeds to the next tier.
· Manage contractor personnel assigned to the engagement, including onboarding/offboarding coordination and any client-required access or background adjudication processes.
· Deliver regular written status reports and lead recurring status meetings with client stakeholders, surfacing risks and issues clearly and early.
· Coordinate scheduling and delivery of administrator training sessions, including scheduled group sessions and ad hoc one-on-one training requests (with defined response-time commitments).
· Ensure all deliverables meet applicable federal accessibility standards (Section 508) where relevant.
Representative Technical Scope You'll Be Managing
The delivery team under this PM will be executing a prioritized (tiered) backlog that includes items such as:
· Mobile application configuration for field inventory scanning and real-time record updates.
· Automated status-update workflows tied to service request and work order lifecycle events.
· Diagnosis and resolution of application errors encountered during asset transactions.
· Configuration of cross-location asset transfer workflows with appropriate access/visibility controls.
· Automated email notification/verification workflows for asset assignment.
· API-based integration with an external asset/inventory tracking platform.
· Development of new operational reports and correction of existing reports (e.g., audit log visibility, retired/missing asset exclusions, transfer date tracking).
· Troubleshooting of integrations with adjacent financial and personnel/HR systems, including manual reprocessing procedures where automated sync fails.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience successfully managing inventory or asset management system projects/implementations, OR a PMP certification plus 2 years of relevant project management experience.
· Demonstrated track record managing complex IT implementation projects, ideally involving Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or CMMS platforms — hands-on IBM Maximo experience strongly preferred.
· Working knowledge of Maximo configuration, scripting, and issue-remediation practices across both out-of-the-box and customized implementations (or direct oversight experience managing resources who perform this work).
· Experience building and managing project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, and risk/issue logs.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering formal status reporting to client stakeholders.
· Able to support a fully remote engagement and to obtain any client-required system access adjudication/background review.
Preferred Qualifications
· PMP certification.
· Prior experience delivering on U.S. federal government IT services contracts.
· Familiarity with mobile inventory/scanning workflows, workflow automation/triggered actions, and system-to-system API integrations.
· Experience with Section 508 / accessibility compliance requirements for deliverables.
