Blockman

Our client is looking for a Blockman to join their team.

Salary:

Responsibilities:

Prepare meat products for display and sale.

Ensure all meat is handled, stored, and packaged safely and hygienically.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the butchery area.

Operate and maintain knives, cutting equipment, and other butchery tools safely.

Monitor product quality, freshness, and expiry dates.

Minimize product wastage through proper cutting and portion control.

Assist with receiving, weighing, labeling, and storing meat products.

Maintain correct temperatures in chillers and freezers.

Maintain quality merchandising at all time of the meat displayed

Optimal use of meat products, minimizing waste

Use all butchery equipment with very little supervision (Knives, Bandsaw, Mincing machine)

Assemble and disassemble all the as per S.O.P and manual instruction

Key Skills:

Have thorough knowledge of all butchery cuts

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Ability to work in a cold environment and stand for extended periods.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

Work autonomously

Qualifications:

Should have reached at least 5 O' levels

Communicate in English and other languages is an added advantage

Knowledge of Meat Matrix is an added advantage

At least five (5) years working experience in a butchery setup
