Ohio Emergency Medical Services

Oversees the certifications of emergency medical technicians and firefighters and provides that these people in lifesaving roles are properly trained, educated and prepared for emergency situations.

OPTION 1:

48 mos. exp. in data analytics or statistical analysis or research methods.

OPTION 2:

-Or completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;

AND 30 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OPTION 3:

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;

AND 24 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OPTION 4:

-Or completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;

AND 12 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OPTION 5:

-Or 36 mos. exp as a Data Analytics Associate, 66930.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

What You'll Do as a Data Analytics Specialist

• Researches complex data requests & collaborates with Epidemiology Investigators to identify business problems & opportunities to create dashboards to help management identify new data trends & recommend new solutions;

• Collects, analyzes, & documents business requirements for project proposals; Employs analytical results to address business problems &/or opportunities in formats accessible to non technical staff & stakeholders;

• Supports data specialists & scientists in guiding business leaders regarding interpretation & applicability of findings (e.g., program effectiveness, resource allocation, patient care best practices, impact on & patient outcomes, etc.);

• Identifies & validates data sets; Identifies missing or incomplete data & variables in the EMSIRS & OTR data; Analyzes relevant data to understand business patterns & trends;

• Works with Epidemiology Investigators to investigate & resolve data discrepancies across EMS data systems;

• Utilizes Tableau & Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) to complete data visualization requests using Emergency Medical Services Incident Reporting System (EMSIRS) & Ohio Trauma Registry (OTR);
