Requirements:

Prior experience as an aquatics supervisor, pool operator or experience leading swim lessons, overseeing pool operations, facility maintenance, lifeguards & safety compliance

Ability to work with children and manage multiple priorities while creating a positive team culture

Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills

Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training

Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary). Noise level is usually moderate

Summary: You will use your knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum to oversee swim lessons, manage attendance and evaluate students’ progress to determine level placement. You will work hands-on with swimmers and staff to improve lesson quality. After each 30 minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate the accomplishments!) with parents and caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum as needed

Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents

Evaluate students’ progress for proper level placement, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner

Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills

Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter, working individually with instructors or students as needed

Supervise, train and support lifeguards and swim instructors and provide feedback

Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment and check or balance pool chemicals as needed

Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion

Plan and lead team workshops and in-service trainings to review curriculum and safety procedures with a team of swim instructors and lifeguards

Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned
