Requirements & Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support daily Food Safety and Quality Assurance activities within a USDA-regulated meat processing facility
Lead, coach, train, and develop FSQA Technicians and Quality team members
Ensure compliance with USDA-FSIS regulations, HACCP plans, GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, BRC, and customer requirements
Conduct routine production floor inspections, quality checks, and food safety verifications
Support audit readiness and assist with USDA, customer, and third-party audits
Investigate food safety, quality, and regulatory issues and assist with corrective and preventive action implementation
Oversee product inspections, documentation, product holds, and release procedures
Monitor environmental programs, sanitation practices, and food safety verification activities
Review quality and food safety data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments to resolve production and quality-related concerns
Conduct food safety and quality training for production employees
Promote a strong food safety culture and reinforce compliance throughout the facility
Ensure accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and adherence to regulatory and company requirements
Communicate quality concerns, production issues, and corrective actions to FSQA leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred
HACCP Certification, SQF Practitioner, PCQI, or similar food safety credentials preferred
Experience working in BRC-, SQF-, or other GFSI-certified facilities
Previous experience with Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing initiatives is a plus
