Assistant Driver Trainer - Out of Harare

Our client is looking for a responsible, safety-conscious and experienced individual to join their team as an Assistant Driver Trainer.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with training new and existing drivers on safe and defensive driving techniques.

Support practical driver assessments and refresher training.

Monitor driver performance and identify areas requiring improvement.

Conduct driver coaching and provide constructive feedback.

Assist with vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspection training.

Train drivers on company driving procedures, vehicle handling and road safety requirements.

Assist in monitoring driver compliance with traffic laws, company policies and safety procedures.

Maintain accurate training, assessment and driver performance records.

Assist with driver induction and orientation.

Support investigations and coaching following driving incidents or safety concerns.

Work closely with the Fleet/Transport Department to improve driver performance and reduce accidents, vehicle abuse and operational risks.

Perform any other duties related to driver training and fleet safety as required.

Key Skills:

Good knowledge of road safety, defensive driving and vehicle safety procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to coach, motivate and work effectively with drivers.

Strong observation, reporting and record-keeping skills.

Mature, patient, disciplined and safety-focused.

Clean driving record preferred.

Key Qualifications:

Driver Trainer/Instructor certification

Defensive driving experience Valid driver's licence.

Proven driving experience, preferably with commercial vehicles, trucks or fleet operations.

Previous experience in driver training, fleet operations, transport or logistics will be an advantage.
