Temporary Dining Operations AssistantThe Dining Operations Assistant supports the dining operation (traditional cafeteria, grab and go service, retail, or convenience store (c-store)) serving students, staff and guests of The Ohio State University; greets and serves customers; assists with the production and service of food to students, staff, guests, and special groups and in addition provides support for the procurement and inventory of food and related goods; will be responsible for service and customer relations; operates coffee equipment, makes gourmet coffee and specialty drinks; collects payment by cash or BuckID; responsible for meals being served in accordance with prescribed standards; maintains the quality and quantity of food items produced; assists with inventories; participants in the inspection of incoming food and supplies; works weekends, various hours, special events, and holidays as business need dictates.
This is a temporary staff position that is not to exceed 12 months.Minimum Education Requirements Per Classified Civil Svc SpecsQualificationsRequired: High school diploma or GED; ability to communicate effectively; successful completion of a background check.Desired0-2 years of front-line customer service experience; 1 year of experience taking and filling food orders; 1 year of experience brewing premium coffees and making espresso-based drinks; 1 year of cash handling experience; 1 year of experience in taking inventories; 1 year of experience in placing orders or requisitioning supplies.Additional Information:This position is located at Marketplace on Neil.
