Assistant General Manager (High Volume Restaurant & Bar)

Downtown Columbus. $4.5M in annual volume. A 250-person rush when the convention center lets out, then a college football Saturday, then a private buyout that fills the room for six hours. Scratch kitchen, a full cocktail and draft program, and a floor that never runs on autopilot.

This operation is looking for an Assistant General Manager who lives on that floor.

What We Offer:

$70,000 base salary

Reports directly to the General Manager

What You'll Do:

Own floor presence on game days, convention nights, late nights, and buyouts

Coach, train, and develop a service team of 60 to 70, most of them early career

Build upsell and suggestive selling capability across the floor

Build and manage the weekly schedule against forecast and event calendar

Engage guests directly and build a repeat guest base

Support the GM on service standards, staffing, and floor execution

Own health, safety, and liquor compliance on shift

What We Need:

3+ years managing front of house in a high-volume restaurant, bar or entertainment venue

Track record developing young hourly teams, not just supervising them

Scheduling experience for teams of 50 or more

Genuine hospitality presence. This role lives on the floor, not in the office

Availability nights, weekends, and holidays, including football season

ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days

Bonus Points For:

Sports bar, entertainment venue, or nightlife background

Bar program or beverage experience

Private event and buyout execution

HotSchedules or Toast experience
