Uprise Retail Group Pty Ltd, trading as IGA Bombala, is an independently owned fresh food supermarket in Bombala, NSW. We are seeking experienced Cooks (2 Full-Time Positions) to join our Deli Station and Ready Meals department on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful applicants will take responsibility for daily cooking and maintain consistent standards of quality, taste and presentation.

Reports to: Store Manager

Key responsibilities

• Check ingredients for quality and freshness before use.

• Prepare and cook hot meals, roasts, barbecue chickens, cooked meats, seafood and ready meals, and prepare salads and other cold items.

• Operate ovens, fryers, grills and rotisseries at the correct temperatures.

• Portion, garnish and present food for the Deli Station, hot-food counter and ready-meal range.

• Follow approved recipes, ingredient specifications and allergen-control procedures.

• Store, hold, freeze and preserve food at the correct temperatures and complete food-safety records.

• Plan daily production, estimate ingredient requirements, rotate stock and minimise waste.

• Train junior staff and keep the work area clean and food safe.

Requirements

• An AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with at least 2 years of on-the-job training, an AQF Certificate IV or higher relevant qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.

• At least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience, or the part-time equivalent.

• Experience preparing hot food and ready meals in a commercial kitchen or food-production environment.

• Sound knowledge of food safety, temperature control, allergen management and stock rotation.

• Availability for early starts and weekend work.

Remuneration and conditions

An annual remuneration of $71,550 to $79,550, plus superannuation, will be offered based on skills and experience.
