HR Specialist

1. Work under the direct supervision of the CFO and report to the CFO on a daily basis.

2. Monitor and enforce compliance with federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title IX) as they apply to educational institutions, flagging risk areas and recommending corrective action.

3. Assist in the preparation of HR-related documentation for annual financial audits, working alongside DSS's audit preparation team to ensure client's personnel record and payroll data are accurate and audit-ready.

4. Analyze HR and payroll data to produce actionable reports on headcount, turnover, compensation trends, and benefits utilization, supporting DSS leadership and client administrators in workforce planning decisions.

5. Support federal and state grant compliance by tracking employee time allocation and effort reporting for grant-funded positions, ensuring labor costs align with approved grant budgets.

6. Develop and maintain HR policy documentation, employee handbooks, as well as compliance training calendars for client institutions, customized to charter, public, or private schools.
