Senior Java Developer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid position (4 days onsite) with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.

Compensation: $84.00 - $94.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead to design and implement complex enterprise solutions while helping guide the team in its AI journey. This role combines hands-on Java development and technical leadership with responsibility for identifying practical AI use cases, driving adoption of approved AI-assisted development tools, and integrating AI capabilities into development and delivery processes. The successful candidate will serve as a primary technical owner for projects, influence architecture and strategic decisions, and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for governance, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deliver high-quality enterprise applications and technical solutions

Serve as a primary technical owner for projects and project deliverables

Lead and mentor development team members and provide technical direction

Partner with business, technology, architecture, and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Guide teams in identifying and implementing practical AI use cases within software development and delivery

Proactively identify opportunities to leverage approved AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies

Drive responsible AI adoption while maintaining data security, regulatory compliance, governance, and engineering accountability

Influence architectural and strategic technology decisions

Present technical solutions, project progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize enterprise applications

Support Agile development, build, testing, deployment, and operational processes

Primary Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience

5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including Object-Oriented Design

Strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Web Services, Microservices, Kafka, and JSON

5+ years of experience with DevOps, continuous integration, container-based applications, and cloud deployment architectures

Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and documenting/testing APIs using tools such as Swagger

Experience implementing Microservices using Spring Boot, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and CI/CD

Strong SQL experience with relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or MySQL

Experience with GCP infrastructure and services, including Cloud Run, Terraform, BigQuery, and related cloud technologies

3+ years of experience leading development team members and partnering with business and operational stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and influence architecture decisions

Understanding of AI technologies and AI-assisted software development

Experience with IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM Integration Bus (IIB)/ACE

Knowledge of IBM MQ/WebSphere

Experience with Apache Maven for application build automation

Experience with Git and/or SVN and CI/CD-driven code migration

Experience with JWT authentication and authorization

Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms

Desired Skills:

Experience with Fraud Technology

Strong technical leadership, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills

Proactive mindset toward AI, emerging technologies, and engineering innovation

Strong understanding of Agile concepts and experience with Scrum and Kanban delivery frameworks

Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment
