Are you passionate about conservation, wildlife, research and environmental education? This exciting short-term opportunity is ideal for a highly adaptable Conservation Guide / Research Coordinator who enjoys working across different teams, locations and programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support conservation research, monitoring and wildlife surveys
• Assist with field-based data collection and camera trapping
• Train and support volunteers in research and field skills
• Maintain accurate research data and contribute to reporting
• Lead conservation activities and field experiences
• Deliver conservation education to international groups and young people
• Support practical conservation projects
• Adapt activities to different groups while ensuring safe delivery
• Work effectively across different teams, programmes and environments
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
️ Guide qualification or CATHSSETA accreditation
️ Valid First Aid Certificate
️ Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
️ South African citizen or valid South African work visa
️ Highly flexible and adaptable
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
• Conservation or wildlife field experience
• Experience working with volunteers or groups
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent wildlife identification skills
• Research and fieldwork experience advantageous
• Proactive, organised and professional
• Comfortable working in remote environments
• Passionate about conservation and environmental education
