Sr. Java Developer

Location: Columbus, OH

Type: 3+ Months Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with experience in DevOps and event-driven architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

Build scalable integration solutions across enterprise platforms.

Develop cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Implement event-driven solutions using Kafka.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and Maven.

Collaborate with architects, business teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, and mentor junior developers. Required Skills

5+ years of Java development experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Maven, and Agile development practices.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Skills

Kafka and event-driven architecture.

Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.

Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and API testing tools.

OAuth2, JWT, and API security frameworks.

Experience with Oracle, DB2, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Exposure to IBM WebSphere, ACE/IIB, or DataPower. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience leading projects and mentoring developers is a plus.
