Role Description The Transportation Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This position oversees daily transportation operations, including dispatching drivers, assigning routes, monitoring schedules, and ensuring timely pickup and delivery of freight. The supervisor coordinates with drivers, customers, and internal teams to address service issues, maintain high levels of communication, and support safety and compliance initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing fleet utilization, reviewing logs and documentation, enforcing company policies and DOT regulations, and resolving operational challenges. The role also involves coaching and supporting drivers, tracking performance metrics, and contributing to continuous improvement of service quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, performance management, and coaching.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements for commercial transportation.

Effective communication skills for working with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Experience with fleet management, route planning, and daily transportation operations.

Customer service skills with a focus on reliability, problem-solving, and relationship building.

Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking operations is REQUIRED.

Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under time pressure.

Proficiency with transportation management systems and basic office software tools.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics or business is a plus.
