Assistant General Manager (High Volume Restaurant & Bar)

The Restaurant Zone is hiring on behalf of a $6M+ social dining and entertainment venue in downtown Columbus. Scratch kitchen, a serious cocktail and draft program, private event spaces, and a guest base that expects steakhouse-level service in a high-energy setting. This is one of the busiest rooms in the city, and the floor never runs on autopilot.

What We Offer:

$70,000 base salary

46-hour work week, not the 55 to 60 most AGMs are living

Real growth path. Ownership is opening 3 to 4 additional locations

Reports directly to the General Manager with full ownership of the floor

What You'll Do:

Run front-of-house service on game days, late nights, and private events

Lead scheduling and hold labor costs to target across a large hourly team

Own bar inventory, pour cost, ordering, and vendor relationships

Hire, train, and develop hourly staff and shift leaders

Execute private room and catering events from booking to close

Track daily KPIs and support the GM on P&L

Own health, safety, and liquor compliance on shift

What We Need:

3+ years managing front of house in a high-volume bar, gastro-pub, or elevated casual restaurant

Full bar program experience including inventory and pour cost control

Scheduling and labor cost management for teams of 40 or more

Comfortable running late-night and event-driven volume

Availability nights, weekends, and holidays including football season

ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days

Bonus Points For:

Sports bar, entertainment venue, or nightlife background

Toast POS experience

Private event or catering coordination

Columbus market knowledge
