Registered Nurse
Shift is 3x12 Days from 07:00 to 19:30. Weekend coverage required every other weekend but may change based on need. Float is required to similar units or other facilities depending on demand. Patient population includes inpatient adults with life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. Common cardiovascular diagnoses include sepsis, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease. Patients may receive IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation. Unit procedures include administration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drugs, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation, cardioversion, thoracentesis, cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. Staffing ratios for day shifts are 1:5. Interdisciplinary support available includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Floating to other units may be necessary based on census and staffing needs. Compliance and training modules are to be completed by all travelers prior to starting the contract. Modules are billable, with time eligible for reimbursement.
