Project Executive, Data Center Construction
Vernon, TX Full-Time On-Site with Travel
This construction company is seeking a Project Executive to provide overall leadership on large scale data center projects, with direct responsibility for project performance, contract negotiations, client relations, budget, schedule, and trade partner management. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and is accountable for maintaining compliance with corporate safety and quality standards across assigned projects.
Full-time, based out of Vernon, TX with regular travel to project sites required.
$180,000 to $230,000 per year, based on experience.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will lead project acquisition efforts by using industry contacts to generate leads, participating in the RFP process, and supporting contract negotiations as needed. During pre-construction and project start-up, you will work with the pre-construction team to develop budgets and schedules, assemble the project team, and lead turnover meetings between pre-construction and the assigned project team. Once projects are underway, you will ensure full understanding of and compliance with contract terms across the project team, visit job sites regularly to monitor performance, and evaluate the performance of project staff. You will oversee accounts receivable, financial forecasting, and P&L for each project, assist with baseline schedule development, and support Lean and Last Planner processes. You will also champion the project safety program and maintain continuous communication with clients through regular attendance at owner and project meetings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
15 or more years of general contracting experience
Experience leading multiple medium to large data center projects valued at $100 million or more
Strong working knowledge of contract terms and legal provisions affecting project profitability
Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts on behalf of the company with project owners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and clients
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi tasking skills with high attention to detail
Ability to recruit, build, and motivate a project team to exceed project goals
Ability to develop and maintain client relationships that generate future work
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 Hour certification
PMP certification
LEED accreditation
Experience with Lean construction and Last Planner System processes
