We are seeking an experienced Senior Java / J2EE Developer to support the operations, maintenance, enhancement, and performance refactoring of a large-scale, web-based state health and human services management application.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional Scrum teams, technical architects, and product owners to resolve complex defects, implement application enhancements, optimize database performance, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer to internal staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software code modifications, bug fixes, and system enhancements using Java/J2EE and IBM DB2.

• Translate functional business requirements into technical design documents, system dependencies, and solution options.

• Participate in daily Agile Scrum ceremonies, 2-week sprint planning, review sessions, and regular functional prototype demonstrations.

• Perform application refactoring, user interface improvements, and data/reporting optimizations.

• Follow established enterprise SDLC, design standards, naming conventions, and issue-tracking workflows in Azure DevOps (ADOS).

• Provide comprehensive technical documentation covering database changes, batch programs, application modules, and interface updates.

• Transition knowledge and system concepts to internal team members for long-term operational support.

Requirements & Work Logistics

• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States (no offshoring permitted).

• Remote Setup: Must provide own equipment (computer, monitor, reliable high-speed internet, phone, webcam) capable of connecting securely via VPN.

• (US-based only; candidate must be able to work Pacific Standard Time hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)

• Onboarding: Requires completion of a comprehensive background check prior to start.
