We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to support a state public health division focusing on family health and wellness. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for professional scientific and epidemiological assessments of considerable difficulty to support large-scale community health access and care coordination initiatives.

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (CST)

• 37.5 hours per week

Location:

• Hybrid (Remote work permitted with monthly or as-needed travel to the client's central office)

• Note: Applicants must be current residents of Tennessee to be considered. Relocating contractors must establish residency prior to their start date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain enhancements for a comprehensive data collection project that combines multiple care coordination programs into a unified system.

• Utilize REDCap extensively to build out data collection modules used to guide programmatic efforts, evaluate outcomes, and provide program oversight.

• Assist with the integration of existing care coordination programs into a new data system.

• Prepare routine reports of program participation and outcomes for internal and external partners.

• Pull, clean, and submit recurring reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) in a timely manner.

• Implement SAS code changes and REDCap project updates as monitoring guidance evolves or processes change.

• Write independent code and rigorously test data outputs for accuracy.

• Provide technical assistance and support to non-technical staff regarding the REDCap system and standard operating procedures.

• Work closely with surveillance programs to create data outputs and visualizations.

• Provide quick responses to data inquiries from regional teams, leadership, stakeholders, and other public health partners.

• Fulfill ad-hoc data and/or analysis requests.

• Translate programmatic requirements into the development of appropriate data collection methods.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Option 1: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Information.

• Option 2: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in health science, Biomedical Science, or an Environmental Science field AND experience equivalent to two (2) years of full-time work in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics, health sciences, biomedical sciences, or environmental sciences.

Other Requirements:

• Proficiency in managing electronic data and navigating complex databases with high attention to detail.

• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of REDCap.

• Proficiency in statistical software programming (specifically SAS).

• Demonstrated experience in customer service and working effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Strong foundation in system design, data analysis, and program evaluation.

• Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background verifications, including address history, national and statewide criminal records, and sex offender registries.

Required / Desired Skills

• Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field Required - 1 Years
