Software Engineer (R&D / AI & Data Platforms)Leidos – Analysis Solutions Business AreaBuild the future of data, AI, and mission-critical software.Leidos is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help lead the development of next-generation software capabilities within our dynamic research and development environment.

In this role, you'll design and deliver innovative Knowledge Management solutions that power data-driven decision-making across critical national security missions.You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, AI, and full-stack development, building scalable platforms that transform complex data into actionable insights.What You'll DoDesign and develop Knowledge Management systems, including data pipelines, ontologies, and AI-enabled platformsBuild modern web applications (front-end and back-end) to support search, discovery, and analysisDevelop and maintain ETL pipelines and data lake architecturesIntegrate AI/ML capabilities, including Generative AI and LLM APIsCollaborate across teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable, mission-focused solutionsSupport data analysis, modeling, simulation, and visualization effortsEnsure software quality through testing, validation, and performance optimizationDeploy solutions in secure, cloud-based, and containerized environmentsWhat You BringExperience in software development and system design, with a strong foundation in computer science principlesProficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, R, or JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience building applications using React or Angular, and back-end frameworks such as FastAPIFamiliarity with SQL and NoSQL databasesWorking knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data management systemsExposure to Generative AI / LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock)Understanding of software testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Playwright, Jest)Ability to work in Linux/Unix and Windows environmentsStrong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholdersBasic QualificationsTS/SCI w/PolygraphBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 1+ years of relevant experienceInterest in supporting Intelligence Community and DoD missionsU.S.
