Patient ratio typically 1:3-4.

Weekend shifts assigned according to unit staffing needs.

Up to two pre-approved time-off requests available.Highlights:\n \n Progressive Care/Step-down unit experience with diverse patient diagnoses across adult and geriatric populations\n Float Pool assignment may require supporting equivalent or lower acuity units within the hospital system\n Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility\n 36-hour comprehensive orientation provided\n Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more\n Travel assignment with competitive compensation package\n Requirements:\n \n Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience required\n Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred\n Epic EMR experience required\n Proficiency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry monitoring required\n Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program\n Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required\n Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role\n Required Clinical Skills:\n \n Cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias\n Central line and PICC line care/management\n Peripheral line care and IV insertion/maintenance\n Blood product administration and heparin protocols\n Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration); titration of insulin drips\n Arterial line management and ABG interpretation\n BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management\n Tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management\n Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)\n Pre/Post hemodialysis and renal failure management\n Pre/Post neurosurgery care\n Wound care/wound vac management\n Procedural sedation administration and monitoring\n Isolation precautions and proper PPE utilization\n Why It's a Great Opportunity:\n This Float Pool position offers registered nurses the chance to expand their clinical expertise across multiple progressive care environments while supporting a major academic medical center.
