Stores Controller

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Stores Controller to serve as a crucial link among purchasing, warehouse staff, and finance to ensure materials are available. The role will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, managing receiving and dispatch, and optimizing storage space.

Responsibilities:

Monitor stock levels continuously to prevent shortages (out-of-stock) and overstocking.

Establish and adjust reorder points, safety stock limits, and minimum/maximum stock thresholds.

Conduct regular stocktakes, cyclical audits, and perpetual inventory counts.

Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies between physical stock counts and ERP system records.

Identify, manage, and minimize obsolete, slow-moving, or damaged stock.

Inspect incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and damage against purchase orders and delivery notes.

Oversee stock issuing processes to internal departments, production lines, or external customers.

Update the inventory management software (ERP / WMS systems like SAP, Pastel, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) in real time.

Compile daily, weekly, or monthly inventory valuation and movement reports.

Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient storeroom layout to maximize space utilization.
