Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role in the construction industry
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal guidelines
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Familiarity with project management principles
Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Establish and maintain tendering process and conduct negotiations
Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
Use computer software to calculate estimates and manage data
Present prepared estimates to management and clients
