We are seeking an experienced Facilities Project Manager who has a proven track record of successfully conducting thorough inspections, generating actionable insights, and developing effective solutions to improve processes. They excel in overseeing construction and maintenance projects, managing property inspections, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
This is a contract, temporary position that will complete 30 September.
Position Summary:
This position serves as the support to federal field office managers, and is integral in providing general building management, construction management and project management services.
Responsibilities may include:
Conduct regular inspections of federally owned facilities, including mechanical/janitorial inspections in machine rooms, roofs, and construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Perform property management and inspection services, addressing maintenance and repair needs promptly.
Serve as the on-site point of contact (POC) during construction projects, coordinating with federal client agency personnel and contractors.
Oversee repair and alteration projects, performing periodic inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
Coordinate and attend after-hours inspections, such as Fire Alarm and Elevator inspections, ensuring all safety requirements are met.
Identify and report dangerous conditions, accidents, or safety concerns requiring immediate action.
Support the Building Manager in St. Thomas by tracking all island projects and funneling them to Project Managers for execution.
Inspect and manage small projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to federal requirements.
Create Statements of Work (SOWs) and Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for construction and service projects.
Provide regular updates to tenants on project progress, timelines, and building maintenance activities.
Meet with tenants regularly to assess facility needs, ensure services meet expectations, and maintain a customer-friendly process.
Coordinate project meetings with other branches and contractors to ensure smooth execution.
Manage all assigned projects from start to finish, including estimates, scopes of work, financial documentation, and contract closeouts.
Schedule and oversee building maintenance services, ensuring proper funding and coordination with client agencies and building owners.
Provide logistics support, including tracking deliveries and notifying tenants of shutdowns.
Assist with estimating construction and service projects, ensuring compliance with federal standards.
Prepare reports, documents, and correspondence for the Building Manager’s review and signature.
Perform periodic budget reviews and evaluations on behalf of federal customers.
Be available to work after hours and on weekends as needed to support inspections, maintenance, and project coordination.
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Possess 5-10 years' experience managing commercial or residential buildings, including inspection of projects. (For the purpose of the position, candidates with a more general technical background will be considered acceptable).
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity including multi-phase projects in design and construction on budget and on schedule, while managing multiple priorities.
Demonstrate excellent accounting and organizational skills
Demonstrate practical knowledge of National, State, and Local laws and codes.
Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with contractors, tenants, and government agencies to resolve issues, and provide excellent customer service/client satisfaction.
Demonstrate an ability to effectively administer and manage large or diverse collections of owned properties.
Must be able to obtain federal government security clearance.
