Assistant Controller – Manufacturing

Location: Central Ohio

Position Summary

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee key accounting and financial control activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Operations and Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, effective cash management, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee accounting processes, financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Manage cash flow activities, including accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and disbursements.

Support budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Develop and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.

Partner with Operations, Finance, and IT leadership on financial systems, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with applicable manufacturing and quality standards.

Provide financial insight and support to operational leaders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate and confidential financial records and ensure administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Participate in employee performance management and other special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Professional accounting designation (CPA/CMA/CGA) preferred.

5+ years of post-qualification accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required.

Automotive or auto-parts manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office and analytical skills.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
