Title: Process Consultant

Location: Columbus, OH

Duration: 4 months

Qualifications:

The Process Consultant is responsible for documenting, analyzing, and maintaining business processes to support operational excellence, standardization, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners with business stakeholders to capture current-state processes, develop process documentation, create standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support requirements gathering for process improvement and technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at translating complex business activities into clear, actionable documentation and training materials.

Required Qualifications

Experience developing process maps, SOPs, work instructions, or training documentation.

Strong interviewing and facilitation skills.

Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Visio, Whiteboard, Signavio, or similar process mapping tools.

Experience working within Operational Excellence, Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Process Management organizations.

Familiarity with business analysis techniques, project management and requirements gathering.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Process Documentation & Mapping

Develop and maintain enterprise process documentation including:o Level 1 (Value Stream) process maps

o Level 2 (End-to-End) process maps

o Level 3 (Detailed Workflow) process maps

Facilitate process discovery sessions with subject matter experts and business stakeholders.

Document current-state processes using approved process mapping standards and tools.

Ensure process documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained within designated repositories.

Support process governance activities by maintaining process inventories and documentation standards.

Standard Operating Procedures & Work Instructions

Create, update, and maintain:o Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

o Work Instructions

o Job Aids

o Process Narratives

Translate complex operational activities into easy-to-follow instructions.

Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

Assist with gathering and documenting business requirements for process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.

Interview stakeholders to understand business needs, process pain points, and operational requirements.

Document business requirements, user stories, process impacts, and functional requirements.

Support gap analysis activities between current and future-state processes.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure requirements are accurately captured and understood.Training & Change Support

Develop training materials to support process changes and new procedures.

Create process-based training presentations, job aids, quick reference guides, and onboarding materials.

Support end-user training and knowledge transfer activities.

Assist with change management and communication efforts related to process updates.Continuous Improvement Support

Identify process documentation gaps, redundancies, and standardization opportunities.

Support Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and Business Transformation initiatives.

Participate in process improvement workshops and working sessions.

Assist with tracking implementation actions and documenting process changes resulting from improvement initiatives.
