Mainframe IMS DB Developer

Mandatory Skills:

Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in COBOL

Mainframe Operating Systems: In-depth knowledge of z/OS

Database Technologies: Expertise in IMS database concepts including IMS/DB and IMS/DC

Transaction Processing: Thorough understanding of CICS functionalities and programming interfaces

Job Control Language (JCL): Ability to write and manage JCL scripts for batch processing

System Administration: Basic understanding of mainframe system administration tasks like data set management and security

Must Have: IMS/DB, CICS, COBOL and JCL

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain mainframe applications using languages like COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler.

Design and manage CICS transaction programs for real-time data processing.

Support and troubleshoot legacy systems, performing debugging and issue resolution.

Work with DB2 and IMS for data storage, management, and query optimization.

Monitor and optimize batch processing jobs for efficient system performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and technical solutions.

Ensure system security, compliance, and data integrity by implementing appropriate controls.
